A Prayer for the New Year

by Venerable Master Hsing Yun of Fo Guang Shan

Oh great compassionate Buddha!

A new year has finally come to the world again.

In the temples, the toll of bells,

On the doors, the red New Year's scrolls,

On the wall, a new calendar:

Everything suggests that all things change from old to new when a new year begins.
